Simple Summer Detox Smoothie

Hi Guys!

Summer is right around the corner and despite my new year's resolutions, I am no where near summer ready :(. However, I am done with finals and am really ready to get my butt into shape! One of the ways I try to stay fit and healthy is to implement more smoothies into my diet and remove other processed sugars. I have been sick recently after stressing over finals and one of the ways I get my vitamins in is by adding greens to my smoothies. I have decided to start adding more smoothie recipes to the blog and share with you guys because that is one of the main reasons why I started this blog and my instagram @Chasing_balance_blog.

This smoothie is a really simple one that I make to get my greens for the day when I do not feel like eating a salad or having some vegetables. Also there has been an e. coli breakout recently so I am paranoid about eating mixed greens which is what I usually use in my salads. This smoothie only has four ingredients because like I said it's mostly to get my vitamins in and is not a smoothie I use for a meal replacement. So here's the recipe!

  • 3 cups of kale 
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 scoop of protein powder
  • 1/2 cup of ice
  • water
I know this doesn't sound like much but this smoothie is a really nice sweet replacement when you want to drink something sweet or when you just need to get your micro-nutrients in!

  1. add the kale, banana, protein powder, and water to your blender and blend
  2. add ice and water to taste to make your smoothie your desire of thickness (I like to make this smoothie more liquidy because I like to drink it when I want a sugary drink).
  3. pour into cup and add garnish
  4. Enjoy! (and instgram it and tag me!)
