12 Days of Christmas Workout

Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year! Every year I come home to Merced, California where my parents live and spend Christmas time with my parents, brother, and extended family. One of my favorite traditions is making tamales with my family usually a week or two before Christmas. For those of you who do not know what a tamale is I will try my best to explain it to you. A tamale is a Mexican dish that is made with masa (dough-like substance) and some type of filling. To make them you spread the masa on a corn husk and then place the filling on top of the masa. Our family fills tamales with meat and olives. You then fold the corn husk on the sides then the bottom and cook them in large dutch oven.

But you can probably google the recipe if you're really interested in making them! But back to the point. Tamales are one of my favorite parts about Christmas butttt unfortunately they are not healthy at all! However, because I plan on eating an obscenely amount of them on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I have decided to plan a Christmas themed workout to do on Christmas Eve morning to make more room for tamales and Christmas cookies!

Here's the workout!

You do it just like the song! so start with 1 minute high knees then go up to 2 deep squats and then back to 1 minute high knees. Follow with 3 burpees, 2 deep squats, and 1 minute high knees. You get the picture!

I'll probably follow this with a walk or some other cardio but it is definitely fine to do it by itself! I hope some of you guys try this quickie workout and I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!

xx/ Juliana
