Smoothie Bowl Tips

First of all I have to share my love for smoothie bowls! I began to make them years ago for breakfast and continue to this day. They are a great way to start the day made with simple healthy ingredients and they are... dare I say... INSTAGRAM WORTHY. In fact I began to share my creations on Instagram which is what led me to think about blogging! Because this is my first smoothie bowl  blog post I'm going to share with you some tips I have to make the perfect smoothie bowl.

  1.  Buy bananas in bulk and freeze them the night before you are planning to make a smoothie. (I always have frozen bananas in the freezer because who knows when I'll want to make a smoothie!)
  2. Have some non-dairy milk on hand. (I always have almond milk)
  3. Invest in superfoods for toppings! Although they are on the pricey side they last a long time and can be used for other recipes.
    • examples: chia seeds, goji berries, hemp seeds
  4. Less milk is more. I always add a little milk and add as I go because I like my bowls thick.
  5. If you are eating it as a post-workout smoothie add some protein powder! Try to find a flavor that won't overpower the fruit flavor! (I usually go for vanilla)
